  • Established freelance performer with numerous ensembles in Georgia, Massachusetts and New York.

Composition

  • Studies under Dr. Bonnie Miksch and Michael Barnhardt of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Vuk Kulenovic and Marti Epstein, Berklee College of Music.
  • Original writing includes works for concert, as well as marching percussion ensembles, string quartet, synthesizer and solo percussion.
  • Special interest in the integration of multiple mediums, especially visual and performance art. Works have been performed by members of the Macon Symphony Orchestra (GA), ETHOS Percussion Ensemble (NY), Mobius Artists Group (MA), SAOCO Percussion Ensemble (GA), Mercer University Percussion Ensemble (GA), Rivers Music School (MA), Houston County- area schools (GA) and the prestigious LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts (NY).
  • Winner of Rivers Music School 2000 Composition Competition.
  • Runner up Stuart Saunders Smith 2000 competition.

Teaching

  • Currently serving as Director of Percussion at Fayette Middle School (Fayetteville, GA), Perry Middle School (Perry, GA), and Co-Director at Houston County High School (Warner Robins, GA).
  • Director, Perry Middle School Honor Percussion Ensemble, Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) In-Service Conference, 2004.
  • Since 1995, Director and Co-Director of Percussion at high schools and middle schools in Middle Georgia.
  • Co-presenter of "Drums and Rhythms of the Dominican Republic" with Miguel Castro at PASIC 2000 in Dallas, Tx. Active clinician and adjudicator.
  • Private teaching studio with additional ensemble programs.

  • 05.10.03, PercFest 2003 Georgia's only concert percussion festival for high school and college percussion ensembles, with guest clinicians and an evening concert featuring some of the country's leading performers.
  • 02.15.01, Jason Currin's Udu Xylorimba Tom-Tom Gong-A-Thon, solo recital of Twentieth and Twenty-first Century works, integrating both acoustic and electric instruments.
  • 03.29.99, Presented, Three(3) Places (Percussion Recital, Kandinsky-style), a [mostly] solo event combining visual and musical art.
  • 1997, Established Evening of Percussion at Mercer University, the first-ever such event in nearly 200 years of history at the university, which has since become an annual event.
